We recommend you print these installation instructions so that
you may refer to them during the installation process.
This installation will replace any previously installed versions of the KeyServer client.
Part
A: Downloading KeyAccess
- Click
on the "Download" link above.
- Choose
to save the program to disk at the "File Download"
window,
- A
"Save As..." window should appear.
- Leave
the file name unchanged, but change the directory to the
Desktop so the installed program will be easier to find
later.
- Along the top of the "Save As..." window there
should be a button with a triangle pointing downward,
click it. A box with a list of directories should drop
down. Click on the item labeled "Desktop." You
may have to use the scroll bar to scroll upwards. "Desktop"
will be the item at the top of the list.
-The top of the "Save As..." box should now
say "Save in: Desktop"
- Click
"Save."
- The file should start to download.
- You
are now finished downloading the installer.
Part B: To begin the installation
- Close
any open windows so that you can see your Desktop.
- You
should see a "K2Client.exe" icon on your Desktop. Double-click
on that icon.
- Choose
the destination directory:
- We recommend using the default location.
- Click "Next."
- Setup
should copy the necessary files to your computer.
- An
options window called "Client Network Connection"
may appear next.
- If it does, choose:
- Use TCP/IP Winsock
- Use Windows Logon Name
- The name under "Enter the KeyServer's name or address"
should read:
"keysrv01.calpoly.edu"
- Click "Continue."
- The
KeyServer Client is now installed.
- Click
"Close."
- Restart
your computer.
- From
now on, KeyAccess will start automatically whenever you
turn on your computer.
